Application Engineer

Paper Business line supplies board, tissue and paper machinery as well as equipment and machine rebuilds for the board, tissue and paper industries. Air Systems Technology Unit develops and delivers board and paper machine air systems. Our offering helps customers to increase productivity, achieve lower operating costs, save energy and improve quality. Our main location is Raisio, Finland. 

We are now looking for an Application Engineer to our Air Systems application team. Application team is ensuring that our customers get the best possible solution for their needs regarding Air Systems product portfolio. Our quoted projects vary from large greenfield projects to Air Systems single rebuild projects, thus providing an excellent position to learn about paper & board industry in general. 

In this position you make sure that process dimensioning, product selections, delivery scope and pricing suits to our customers different needs and provides the best overall value for them. Work is done in close co-operation with our product owners and sales teams within our global network. In this role, you report to the Head of Application and Planning. 

Expectations 

To be successful in this position, we expect you to have the following qualifications: 

• Suitable technical education such as Master's or Bachelor's degree in e.g. machine, paper or process technology 

• Understanding of board and paper making process is an asset 

• Customer-focused mindset 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, as well as presentation and influencing skills. Finnish and all other language skills are a benefit. 

• Skilled at working across global boundaries as well as organizational boundaries 

• Willingness to short-term travelling occasionally

Capability to handle several customer cases simultaneously, also under pressure, helps you in this position. However, the most important skill is the willingness and enthusiasm to learn new things and the persistence to get the job done no matter the challenges.
