Data Scientist

 Would you be our new Data Scientist to our Data & Digital Channels unit? The position is based on Helsinki, Finland but we work in hybrid work model. 
 

What you will do? 
 

At this role you will work within and form a new Consumer Data & Analytics domain team with your teammates. The team will be established in Data & Digital channels unit under Posti Group, and it will serve all business functions inside Posti. The goal of the team is to create a data & analytics foundation that serves our business decision makers, operational needs and our consumer customers. The team will include data engineers, data scientists and BI analysts. Together we have an essential role in implementing Posti’s strategy and building a world-class customer experience.  

The team is responsible for building a new data & analytics platform on top of AWS with state-of-the-art tech. This role is a first-class seat to see how a large international delivery and fulfillment company operates and utilizes the data within its operations. We have massive amounts of data for you to crunch. Our ambition is to build a solution that provides data in real time for the use of business decision making, analytics and operations. Some of the solutions we build will likely be visible for 2 million customers.    

Would this be you?   

• Enthusiastic for building analytics capabilities for Posti’s parcel and postal consumers  
• Eager to work on massive data and be part of meaningful work that will impact millions of users, including your friends
  families and whoever uses Posti services.
• Proven track record of developing, deploying, and maintaining analytics solutions in production (e.g., regression, classification, forecasting/time series analysis, churn prediction, segmentation, simulation, etc.) 

• Expertise on Python (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, scikit-learn, etc), Spark (Pyspark), Databricks), and AWS cloud services (S3, EC2, ECR,Sagemaker)
• Ability to communicate fluently at various levels of organization and proactively find new analytics use cases. 
• Fluent verbal and written in English (Finnish considered as a plus)  
• Working knowledge and hands on MLOPs and Kubernets is a big plus.
• Preferably but not obligatory a master’s degree or Ph.D in statistics, computer science, mathematics, operational research, economics or similar    

Succeeding in this position requires you to be good at structuring and scheduling your own work. You like to interact with stakeholders and team members and you have strong data science expertise combined with strong business acumen and understanding what really is valuable for business. We highly appreciate your expertise on the subject but even more we value the results that really make a difference for Posti’s business and customers.
