Legal Counsel, Pulp & Energy business line
Are you looking for a next step or a kick-start to your professional career in global business environment? We are looking for a Legal Counsel to strengthen Pulp & Energy business line (P&E) legal team. You will work closely with and report to Vice President, Legal, Pulp & Energy business line and are a member of Valmet's Global Legal team. Location options are Tampere (FIN) or Tikkurila, Vantaa (FIN).
This role includes a wide range of different responsibilities, for example:

Ensuring that the legal function operates in a way that supports both corporate business objectives as well as management decisions by providing global legal advice and assistance to the management and various business teams in sales, project management, procurement and technology / R&D

Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with customers, suppliers and other business partners with a focus on drafting and negotiating of international supply, services and EPC contracts worldwide

Negotiating trade finance documents, such as guarantees and letters of credit

Training and advising the P&E business line personnel in legal matters and the adherence of company policies and guidelines

Negotiating and documenting claims

Managing disputes and litigation
-
Continuously supporting areas (APAC, CHN, EMEA, NA, SA) in Pulp & Energy business line legal matters
To succeed in this role, you will need:
-
A Master's Degree in Law
-
At least 4-8 years of work experience in a global company or law firm working in a business-to-business environment, work experience within machine or project industry and a strong knowledge of EPC contracts is an asset

Demonstrate strong presence as business partner towards the management and not be afraid to voice opinions and make recommendations for the business

Strong team working and result oriented mindset

Fluent written and spoken English and Finnish skills

Good cross organizational cooperation and communication skills

Good negotiation skills

Capability to work in a high stress environment

Attention to detail

Willingness and ability to travel
