The position is in Sandvik’s Turku site which is the main product development and manufacturing center for our Load and Haul equipment. Our mission is to advance the world through engineering. Do you share our mission?
We are looking for Product Engineers both in the Loaders R&D Product team and Operator Environment team. In the roles you have a possibility for hybrid work (partly remote).
Your primary areas of responsibility
As a Product Engineer, you take technical ownership and responsibility for defined underground loader models or underground loader cabin and canopy models. You lead all engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle. Your main responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that your products are designed according to both internal and external requirements.
- Making sure that engineering data is available in databases.
- Maintaining product structure and product configurator data.
- Acting as a project manager for small-scale R&D projects.
- You collaborate closely with the product line manager, other teams in R&D and product development, manufacturing, assembly, sourcing, spare parts, as well as our suppliers and other partners.
- Depending on your background, additional specific responsibilities may also be part of your role.
Your background and what we find important
- Suitable educational background (Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering), 3D CAD knowledge, and several years of experience in product development tasks.
- An innovative mindset with a genuine desire to develop new solutions and tackle challenging tasks.
- An organized way of working and a passion for coordinating teamwork.
- Previous knowledge of mobile equipment, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, control systems, and cabins, as well as experience in strength calculation, welding, castings, and design-to-cost principles, are considered an advantage.
- Success in this position requires initiative, an active work approach, good interaction and teamwork skills, perseverance, and fluent oral and written skills in English.
