Purchasing Engineer

Are you ready to join our procurement team to grow into full purchasing professional in board and paper machine projects?

We are looking for Purchasing Engineer to join our Roll & Headbox Purchasing Team in Paper Business Line in Jyväskylä. In this role you will be part of Board and Paper Mills Business Unit, that provides new board and paper machines, rebuilds and single equipment for our customers. Your main responsibility is to execute purchases of roll and headbox components. You ensure that the procurement will be executed by following-up Valmet's procurement process and requirements for goods and supply in terms of quality, on-time delivery, price and availability. You maintain close co-operation with different stakeholders both internally and externally. More detailed responsibility area will be defined based on selected candidate capabilities.

Expectations for you

• Suitable education (B.Sc or M.Sc preferably in Logistics or Mechanical Engineering) and preferably at least couple of years' experience of related supply chain roles

• Good knowledge of procurement processes and understanding how purchasing supports business and internal and external customers

• Good communication and negotiation skills combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Solid IT skills, ERP system familiarity is definitely seen as an advantage

• Highly organized and detail-oriented way of working, team working skills and customer serving attitude

• Knowledge of roll and headbox components is an advantage

• Fluent written and oral communication skills in English and in Finnish

• Willingness to travel occasionally
