Our Investment Execution team within Operational Excellence focuses on growth and productivity investments in recycling and waste management, particularly in metals, plastics, ash and slag. We strive for innovation and efficiency, and we’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to help us achieve our ambitious goals.
Location: Flexible within Fortum Recycling and Waste offices in Finland
About the role
As a Senior Project Manager in our Operational Excellence team, you will manage technical investments from the execution decision to operational handover. You will lead multiple investment projects simultaneously, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives. Your expertise will also extend to supporting business development efforts by preparing new investment proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage technical investments throughout their lifecycle, from decision-making to operational integration.
- Secure safe work environment prior, during and after investment execution as well as keep agreed time schedules and budget.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of project managers, field experts, external and internal stakeholders to reach successful results.
- Participate in business development initiatives, contributing to the preparation of investment proposals.
- Train and mentor team members in project management best practices.
- Support the development of investment proposals and participate in steering groups.
- Continuously improve our processes and methodologies related to investments.
- Oversee investments primarily located in Finland and Sweden with potential projects across Europe.
About you
To succeed in this position, you will have:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field; Project Management Certification preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience in project management, particularly in technical or investment projects.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects across different phases and locations.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- You speak and write English fluently, other languages are an advantage.
- You have a readiness to travel.
