Nokia Standards targets collaboration with internal and external experts to advance the state-of-the-art technology landscape as well as to protect Nokia Intellectual Property. The Architecture, Security and Automation unit is responsible for research and standardization activities related to 5G-Advanced and 6G cellular network architecture, security, and its zero-touch automation.
We are seeking an experienced standardization technical expert to contribute and lead our strategy and standardization efforts related to Service Frameworks & Application Enablement (3GPP SA6). The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct standards driven research, participation in standardization meetings, coordination with stakeholders (external & internal), drive the standardization objectives with strategic relevance to Nokia business for Service Frameworks and Application enablement topics including API framework, SEAL services, Edge enablement & Metaverse.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
1.Research and Standardization:
- Lead the internal research and be responsible for delivering research outcomes to standard bodies in alignment with Nokia position
- Analyze trends in industry and technology with regards to their relevance for 5G Advanced and 6G. Specify use cases and identify the requirements needed for 5G-Advanced and 6G to support those.
- Collaborate with the Nokia business groups and customer projects, engage with customers and ecosystem partners as part of the research and standardization process.
- Contribute to 3GPP (with focus on SA6) and participation in global standardization meetings.
- Conduct in leadership roles (e.g. Rapporteur) for technical topics.
2. Ecosystem and Strategic activities:
- Engagements with stakeholders MNO/Enterprise CTO team, Academic experts, Standardization leaders.
- Create/Contribute to post standardization (white papers, technical reports) activities within the organization and industry forums.
- Contribute to strategy development and planning and play lead role in key associations focusing on industry verticals.
- Build and nurture strategic partnerships with key ecosystem players, including customers and internal marketing and product teams.
- Create collaboration avenues with Academia for research projects and participate in Academic research collaboration projects/Pre-standardization activities in global/regional forums.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Required skills:
- Thorough understanding of Architecture and Protocol aspects related to CAPIF, SEAL, Edge Enablement (ETSI MEC), OAuth topics.
- Understanding of API gateway/platforms, Network Exposure Platforms, Services architectures like Microservices.
- Thorough working knowledge of 3GPP SA6 and understanding of 3GPP processes.
- Technical leadership capabilities to drive small and medium standardization projects.
- Strong presentation and effective communication skills.
- Conducted in 3GPP Rapporteur position (Good to have).
- Participation in ecosystem activities related to Network Exposure to Applications like 5GAA, 5GACIA, B6GA, etc. (Good to have).
Experience & Educational background:
- Good industry experience in R&D and/or Standardization activities
- Min. 3 years of experience in working in 3GPP SA WGs (e.g. SA6)
- B.E/M.Tech/M.S degree in relevant field.
