Introduction

 

Metso Compliance & Risk Management is part of Metso's Legal and Compliance function. We provide legal and compliance expertise and support Metso's compliance, as well as the compliance of Metso business partners. 

 

We are now looking for a third-or fourth-year law student to work as a Trainee, Legal and Compliance at Metso. The location for this role will be Espoo. The working hours can be full-time or part-time, and the period is six months.

As a Trainee, Legal & Compliance you will: 

 

  • Support the team on compliance matters, background research, assignments, and ongoing projects 
  • Support and execute compliance checks for our business partners using our compliance tool
  • Assist with sanctions review and analysis 
  • Support internal stakeholders in compliance-related processes and tools
  • Help to collect relevant information about our business partners
  • Participate in the development and make available compliance templates and checklists for business 
  • Share relevant compliance news with the organization
  • Participate and support compliance trainings and launches
  • Contribute to the development of internal compliance-related directives, guidelines, and policies
  • Have an opportunity to work in a multinational environment and to enjoy an innovative and supportive atmosphere 
  • Have challenging tasks in a global setting that will develop your professional skills and competencies

 



To succeed as a Trainee, Legal & Compliance, you will need:

 

  • Interest in Compliance, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and geopolitical matters
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn more
  • Can-do approach, with a pro-active mindset
  • To take initiative and have the ability to adapt
  • Good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint and experience with other tools is considered an advantage
  • Full working proficiency in English. Other language skills, exchange programs, and work experience abroad are assets.
  • At least half of your law studies completed. We are primarily looking for a third- or fourth-year law student. Additionally, prior work experience in the legal field (e.g., in a law firm or in-house legal department) is considered a benefit.

The expected monthly salary for our full-time trainee roles is between 2000 and 2770 euros. The exact monthly salary for each role is based on the candidate's number of completed academic credits.
