Steerpath is a Finnish startup solving a global challenge of optimising benefits of hybrid working for both employee and the company. We support companies to arrange their multi location working, and through our solution teams & employees in large companies decide when to visit the office and when to work remote! Our hybrid workplace application helps employees & companies get maximum out of multi-location working.
We are now growing, and looking to strengthen our team with a Backend Developer/DevOps engineer to help us make our product even stronger.
About the role
As our Backend Developer you will become a critical part of our R&D team with 6 colleagues working across mobile, frontend, design and backend (which you will own), and report to Mikko, our CTO. You will be an integral part of both developing new systems, but also improving our existing systems and processes.
All our work is in English, and we work in an agile way with 2 week sprints and daily stand-ups. As opposed to a traditional Product Owner, we have a Product Management Team represented by both R&D, Sales and Operations. This way we can prioritise our work based on both what we can sell, what our customers want and what we think is possible to do.
We offer a friendly start-up environment with a small team, where you will work closely together with your own team but also other teams in the company.
We support hybrid work, meaning you have the flexibility to work partially remotely as well, but we prefer you can work onsite at least 2 days per week.

Our tech stack: We use modern technologies such as Typescript, Serverless, Docker, Terraform, and we build our solutions on top of the services AWS offers.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an experience Backend/DevOps profile, who has practical experience building solutions in Typescript on top of AWS infrastructure. We imagine you have a background of at least a few years in either consulting or as a backend developer in a product company.
You have already stubbed your toe against AWS limits and found solutions, and you like the challenge of building reliable, maintainable, and scalable solutions. The ideal candidate is good at communication, a team player and a fast learner, not afraid of taking on new technologies.
What are looking for from you:

2+ years experience as a backend developer at a product company/IT consultant

1+ years experience with Typescript - believe Typescript is the way to go :)

1+ AWS experience - Lost few hairs fighting with AWS (Lambdas, IAM, Cognito)

Experience working in Europe (to ensure a work culture fit)

Based in Helsinki capital region - able to work onsite at least 2 days per week (you need to already be in Finland)
Bonus points for:

Knowledge of or willingness to learn: Python, GoLang, AI
