Design/Chief Engineer

Do you have a good eye for dimensioning of the structures and interest in stepping into shoes of Chief Engineer or Design Engineer?

We are looking for the next talent to join our Coaters and Calenders engineering team in Board & Paper Mills Technology unit.

As a Chief Engineer you are in charge of delivering the mechanical engineering to our projects. You participate in machine lay-out and detail engineering, preparation of procurement and documentation. Leading and guiding our subcontractors is important part of your work. You collaborate closely with our team, partners, customers and other stakeholders. You'll be positively challenged by a wide range of projects. Occasionally you have a chance to travel and visit our customers.

Expectations to you

To be successful in this position you should have a good eye for dimensioning of the structures and be familiar with different production techniques. You enjoy working with people from different cultures in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You are willing and capable to lead and organize your and others' work. Self-driven and systematic approach to work are essential in this role. You are motivated by achieving targets also under pressure.

You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering and some experience in mechanical engineering. You are familiar with basic 3D engineering software like Catia V5/V6.

Valmet's official language is English, but Finnish and other language skills are beneficial.

Also recently graduated can apply to Design Engineer position as position's responsibilities can be scaled according to your professional experience and skills so far. The most important thing is that you have strong motivation and willingness to grow and develop with Valmet.
