Electrical Design Engineer

The Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is the leading provider of equipment and tools for the mining industry, as well as maintenance and technical services. Its products include drill rigs, mechanical mining equipment, crushers, loading and hauling equipment and material processing equipment. The Tampere factory is a global technology and manufacturing center for drilling equipment. We are now looking for an active and innovative electrical design engineer for the Surface Drilling division for the product development of aboveground drilling equipment.

Your role

You work as part of the electrical design team, which is responsible for the development, maintenance, life-cycle development and customer customization of surface drilling equipment's electrical systems. Your main area of responsibility includes circuit diagram, wiring and electrical design, selection and testing of electrical components, and supporting production during proto and series production. In addition, you participate in delivery and equipment projects. You also work in close cooperation with other design areas, spare parts and product support, as well as procurement and suppliers.

Your background
You have an electrical or automation technology education suitable for the position (engineering or DI). Your previous experience in machine tool design and mastery of Teamcenter, E3 and NX design software is an advantage. Knowledge of battery-powered or electrified work machines is an advantage. An independent, self-initiated and service-minded attitude striving for a solution, as well as a systematic and schedule-bound working approach are prerequisites for successfully handling the task. Effective stakeholder communication requires an excellent command of the Finnish language, and you also communicate fluently in English.
