Join XTX Markets and be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and excellence! We are seeking a skilled HPC Infrastructure Support Engineer to manage XTX Markets’ physical layer of their HPC Cluster in Kajaani, Finland.
This full-time, permanent role requires on-call availability and occasional overtime during peak periods. The selected person will be recruited directly to XTX. The recruitment partner is Barona Engineering.

Your key responsibilities:
- Deploy and maintain infrastructure (servers, switches, storage, cabling).
- Perform hardware installations, upgrades, and repairs.
- Coordinate with vendors for maintenance and support.
- Manage inventory and logistics, including international shipping.
- Support large-scale projects (e.g., 1,000 server deployments).
- Participate in platform design and customization.
We expect you to have
You should have extensive experience working in datacentres with a solid understanding of high-speed networking, including different types of fibre and transceivers. You should be comfortable working inside servers, such as installing PCIe cards, and familiar with the mechanics and intricacies of international shipping. Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Finnish is required, along with a working knowledge of networking, hardware, and server software. Experience using hardware monitoring and management tools is essential. You should be personable, enthusiastic, and genuinely eager to take on responsibility. Additionally, you must be punctual, organized, reliable, and willing to work hard. Being outgoing and able to build rapport with colleagues, local and national stakeholders, and vendors is crucial.
Desirable attributes
A relevant degree or work experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are important, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail is essential. Comfortability with working in a fast-paced environment is also beneficial. Hands-on experience supporting Direct Liquid Cooling infrastructure would be advantageous.
