China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC) is a world-renowned international contractor and a leading provider of comprehensive services across the entire industry chain for both public and private sectors. CHEC has been engaged as the main contractor for the CAM Plant project in Kotka, responsible for the implementation and construction of the plant.The investment amounts to approximately 800 million euros.
Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced HR Officer to join our Kotka project, work location in Kotka. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth daily HR operations, local compliance, and effective coordination with external service providers.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations Management

Manage employee relations and communication

Coordinate the full employee lifecycle

Working time and absence management

Maintain employment-related documentation

Respond to employee inquiries
Payroll Coordination & Working Time Management

Coordinate monthly payroll processing with external vendors, internal teams and employees

Review and maintain working time records, overtime and absence reports, employee benefits, deductions etc. to ensure accurate and timely payroll materials input for salary calculation
HR Policy Management

Maintain and update the Employee Handbook, internal HR
policies and procedures -
Communicate policy changes and ensure proper implementation

Manage related administrative processes
External Partner Coordination
-
Coordinate with external HR-related partners, including insurance companies, occupational healthcare services, authorities, and other service providers
Requirements
-
Strong knowledge of Finnish employment law and HR practices
-
Familiarity with the construction industry collective agreement is an advantage
-
3–5 years of HR operation experience in Finland

Experience in a multinational or multicultural environment is preferred
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, open-minded, inclusive, and able to work in diverse teams

Fluent in Finnish and English
