We are looking for an
 
Information Architect in the area of Production
 
to join our growing Data Management & Data Platform (DM & DP) team within the Data Management unit in Espoo.

DM & DP plays a key role in transforming Neste to a data driven company, which is one of the strategic spearhead projects. We are building our competitive edge on data, to understand even better our customers, suppliers, markets, competitors and our operations. This whole initiative is quite unique in the Finnish industrial landscape.

The refineries are central assets in Neste, and their information creates one essential piece in the Neste wide Data Platform. Your role as an information architect in the Data Management & Data Platform team is to support the refine and blend processes, asset management, and related business functions in their business development projects. Together we will build a robust and scalable way of working that will truly allow Neste to lie on the pulse of the business.

Your main responsibilities in creating a sustainable future are

  • Taking charge of the information architecture deliverables in your responsibility area including
    • Conceptual and logical data modelling and relation to Neste Data Platform, master data management, integrations, and other services
    • Information inputs and outputs in process model
    • Information flows between systems
    • Common vocabulary and glossary
    • Other information architecture tasks on needs bases
  • Participating development projects with hands on attitude
  • Collaborate with business and process development, to review data models and business logic for initiating data discovery to process
  • Cooperate with Process Owners, Data Owners, Data & Analytics Leads and Analysts, to foster a data governance community at Neste 
  • Participation in developing information architecture discipline and common ways of working in Neste
  • Support Data Quality Measurement together with other KPIs and report creation.
  • Drive ownership and accountability in your responsibility area including data access, privacy and security related activities
  • Improve data transparency and understanding

 
You will work closely with different business key stakeholders, key process owners, Neste Data Platform team, Business Process Leadership, Neste Master Data team and Enterprise Architects to identify old and new data related needs and solutions.

The Data Management & Data Platform team is one of four sub-teams under the Neste Data Management & Finance Development organisation

  • Finance Transformation - Driving finance process development with an end-to-end mindset and managing finance development portfolio as well as specific development projects
  • Data Management & Data Platform - Driving data understanding & development in the whole Neste level
  • Intelligent Automation - Driving RPA development in the whole Neste level
  • Process Development & Governance Support - Providing E2E process development and governance support for Finance unit

 The best combination to success in this role

  • Relevant education in industrial engineering, computer science or business
  • Experience in production and operations functions in industrial companies
  • Experience in information architecture work including conceptual and logical data modelling
  • Experience in any major ERP production planning or asset management tool
  • Experience in IoT and time series data
  • Knowledge of process modelling, information flows and entity relationship tool
  • We will appreciate if you are familiar with physical data modelling methodologies (i.e. Data Vault 2.0)

 We also value 

  • Ability to work with complex initiatives having the big picture in mind, and drive these initiatives forward with a high level of independence
  • Understanding how to utilize digital solutions with data to innovate and improve the production and operations business processes and courage to challenge non-value-adding initiatives
  • Strong self-starter with ability to lead and think outside of the box, and ability to gain trust from stakeholders of all seniority levels
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken
