LENS Laskennallinen tekniikka/Computational Engineering: Summer jobs 2025

LUT-yliopiston insinööritieteiden tiedekunnan laskennallisen tekniikan osasto tarjoaa kesätyöpaikkoja opiskelijoille touko-elokuussa 2025.

Kesätyöt tutkimusapulaisena yliopistossa johtavat monesti kanditöihin ja diplomitöihin tai jopa väitöskirjan tekoon. Yritykset arvostavat kokemusta LUTilla työskentelystä, joten saat kesätöistä arvokasta kokemusta ja näyttöjä tulevaa uraa varten.

Kesätöiden aiheena tutkimuksessa ovat inversio-ongelmat, laskennallinen tilastotiede, numeerinen analyysi, data-analyysi, koneoppiminen, tietokonenäkö, hahmontunnistus ja laskennallinen spektroskopia. Tyypillisiä tehtäviä ovat esimerkiksi matemaattisten menetelmien kehittäminen, tietovarantojen käyttö koneoppimismenetelmien avulla ja laskentaohjelmistojen koodaaminen. Opetuksessa keskitytään uuden laskennallisen tekniikan kansainvälisen kandiohjelman materiaalien kehittämiseen.

Tutkimusapulaisen tehtävät ja palkka määräytyvät työsopimuksen tekohetkeen mennessä suoritettujen opintopisteiden perusteella (2145,30 - 2469,12 e/kk).

Valinnassa painotetaan opintomenestystä sekä soveltuvuutta työtehtäviin. Keskiarvo ja opintojen etenemistahti (min. 55 op / lukuvuosi) huomioidaan. Lisäksi 3. tai ylemmän vuosikurssin opiskelijalla tulee olla ennen kesätöiden aloittamista kandityö hyväksyttynä.

Työt sijoittuvat pääosin Lappeenrannan kampukselle.

Työt alkavat sopimuksen mukaan, myös lopetusajankohta on neuvoteltavissa.

The Department of Computational Engineering at the LUT School of Engineering Sciences offers summer jobs for students in May-August 2025.

A summer job as a junior research assistant at the university often leads to Bachelor's and Master's thesis assignments and even dissertations. In addition, businesses value professional experience from LUT, which means a summer job will provide a valuable background and references for a future career.

The duties of the summer jobs deal with inversion problems, computational statistics, numerical analysis, data analysis, machine learning, computer vision, pattern recognition and computational spectroscopy. Typical tasks may include, for example, the development of mathematical methods, the use of data reserves with the help of machine learning methods, and the coding of calculation software. Teaching tasks focus on the development of materials for the new international bachelor's programme in computational engineering.

The duties and the salary of the junior research assistant are determined according to the applicant's credit points at the time of making the work contract (2145,30 - 2469,12 e/month).

The selection is based on the applicant's academic performance and suitability for the work. The grade point average and progress in studies (min. 55 credits/academic year) will be noticed. In addition, third-year students and above must have completed their Bachelor's thesis before starting the summer job.

The jobs are located mainly on LUT's Lappeenranta campus.

The starting and ending dates are negotiable.
