Pulp Drying Technology, part of the Wood and Pulp handling unit of the Pulp and Energy business line, develops, sells, and supplies equipment for the drying departments of pulp mills worldwide. Delivery projects and their scope usually vary between turnkey deliveries of new complete plants, partial rebuilds of existing plants or individual deliveries of equipment.
We are now looking for a Product Technology Manager, EI&C for the design team of pulp dryers. The position is preferably located in Ulvila but other major Valmet locations in Finland can also be considered.
As a Product Technology Manager, one of your key responsibilities is to monitor and coordinate the work of a team full of professionals, you have an important and responsible role in the technical implementation of electrification, automation and instrumentation, cost efficiency and smooth delivery in pulp drying machine projects. You are in close cooperation in the customer interface during projects delivery period. Your role also includes the development of automation solutions for the Pulp Drying Line with the corresponding technology team.
Your daily work includes varied and diverse tasks: you support sales, get involved in development work, participate in design and equipment testing, and work as an important link in the customer interface.
As Product Technology Manager, you have a key role in increasing customer value and satisfaction.
Our expectations for you
B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in automation technology (or equivalent) is mandatory for this position. We expect previous experience in automation design and / or commissioning as well as experience in the field of automation technology. Familiarity with Valmet DNA is a benefit.
This position requires close cooperation with your own team, subcontractors, other Valmet stakeholders, customers, and international partners. Fluent language skills in Finnish and in English are essential. We value the desire and ability to work systematically; you can manage your time and priorities even in quickly changing situations across several simultaneous projects. The experience of working with different stakeholders is a benefit. Good teamwork skills ensure that everyone succeeds.
The position involves travelling approximately 30 days per year according to project requirements. Travel can be both within Finland and abroad, with durations ranging from a few days up to a maximum of 1-2 weeks.
