Summer Trainee, Project Management/Sales/Marketing (multiple openings)
Are you ready to take the next step in your career or are you an experienced project professional? We are looking for someone with a background in mechanical engineering to join us as a Project Manager for Fortum's nuclear power projects.
About the role
We are now looking for a Project Manager, with a Mechanical or process engineering background, to join our Project management and Execution department of Engineering & Projects (E&P). In this role you will have an exciting opportunity to lead large delivery projects of significant strategic importance for Fortum's nuclear businesses and our external customers.
Engineering & Projects is responsible for implementing Fortum's nuclear power projects. We are experts working on demanding tasks at Loviisa and co-owned nuclear power plants, employing around 150 top professionals. We support external customers by delivering world-class nuclear power services globally. In addition, we have a strong focus in nuclear research and development and provide expertise to new nuclear and hydrogen projects.
Your main focus areas are:

Overall project responsibility: project planning and implementation, while ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and customer requirements.

Responsibility for the project success as per the set KPI's, including EHSQ, financial, quality and schedule targets of the project and reporting status.

Leading, motivating, and following up of the project team's progress, to reach the project KPI's, while securing strong team spirit.

Planning and leading the project procurement, negotiating with suppliers, leading claim management in co-operation with Corporate Procurement and managing relations with suppliers.

Responsible for detailed project planning, scheduling, resourcing, change management, and risk management.

Planning, executing and participating in site management activities and acting as the safety coordinator for your own projects as needed.

Contributing to the department's culture development by proactively sharing feedback and experiences with other team-members and acting as a mentor for other project managers.

In external customer projects, supporting the Sales team with technical discussions and estimation of hours to calculation (based on need).
More detailed focus areas and assignments are determined based on the applicant's experience.
This role will report to Manager, Project Management and is located in Espoo or Loviisa, Finland. Occasional travelling to Fortum fleet locations and to external international customers is to be expected, especially during critical project phases.
About you
To be successful in this role, we believe you bring the following:

We expect you to have 5-10 years of experience in mechanical or process engineering assignments, e.g., design, quality assurance, operation and maintenance or project implementation.

University Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical engineering, or Energy Technology.

Demonstrated experience from leading/implementing industry projects.

Demonstrated performance in reaching project KPI's (e.g. EHSQ, financial, schedule, quality, as well as customer and project team satisfaction).

Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams with multiple interfaces.

Experience in project risk management, procurement, negotiations and claim management.

Demonstrated leadership experience.

Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.

Understanding of Finnish nuclear safety requirements (i.e. YVL guides) is an advantage.

Good command of English and Finnish languages. Swedish language skills will be considered as a plus.
