Sales Engineer, Waste Disposal Services

About the role

We are looking for sales engineer to our nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste business line team.

As a Sales engineer for waste disposal services you will have responsibility on marketing and sales of our radioactive and nuclear waste disposal service offering. The sales engineer’s work duties will include waste disposal service portfolio management from marketing and sales to coordination and steering of projects performance in our waste disposal service portfolio.

As an important part of the role, you will also have a responsibility on key customer management towards our main waste disposal clients, Fortum’s co-owned Nordic nuclear waste management organizations. Key customer management duties will include customer relationship management, sales lead and opportunity development (e.g. customer contacting), tender preparations e.g. in a role of bid manager, contract negotiation activities and customer portfolio management (ensuring up-to-date project reporting, invoicing and forecasting).

Additionally, being a member of our nuclear Decommissioning & Waste service team, you will support other team members in B2B sales and marketing activities in nuclear decommissioning and waste management sector, by e.g. contributing to bid preparation and contract negotiation activities.

What we are looking for

  • We expect you to be motivated, cooperative and sales-minded person with good understanding on nuclear industry, B2B service business and sales and project implementation. You are capable of strategic thinking and are able to develop our business holistically in long-term perspective taking into account demands of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of Nordic nuclear radioactive waste management sector and final disposal of radioactive wastes is a counted as clear advantage. Since your role includes sales and customer relationship activities in nuclear waste management and decommissioning field, experience or training in that sector is also appreciated.
  • The successful management of the role will also demand excellent communication and networking skills in international business environment. The customer centric view and willingness to travel and work in international community are essential characteristics to success in this role.
  • You should have working experience at least 3-5 years on energy industry and/or B2B sales. Experience and knowhow on nuclear industry is counted as a clear advantage.
  • You have suitable bachelor or university level degree on technology or economics and are fluent in English. Additionally, as our key customers in nuclear waste disposal services are Fortum’s co-owned nuclear waste management organizations in Nordics role necessitates a good command of Finnish language, and Swedish language skills are highly preferred.
