About the role
Are you excited about being part of a new venture and helping to shape its future? SkipperDigit, a newly established company specializing in ERP implementation and Data Engineering & Analytics solutions, is seeking a motivated Sales Trainee to grow our customer base from the ground up. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior member. Your main goal will be to bring new customers and help establish SkipperDigit’s presence in a highly competitive market.
This remote internship starts in April 2025 and runs for a period of 5-6 months. The role is commission-based, meaning compensation will be tied to confirmed contracts brought in by the trainee. It is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills, gain experience, and grow alongside a dynamic startup.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prospect & Lead Generation: Proactively identify potential clients through market research, networking, and targeted outreach to build a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- Pitch & Present: Assist in creating and delivering compelling presentations and demos for prospective clients, articulating the value of SkipperDigit’s ERP, Data Engineering, and Analytics solutions.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong customer relationships by understanding their challenges, recommending tailored solutions, and responding to their inquiries.
- Sales Process Support: Collaborate with the team members to learn deal management, negotiation tactics, and contract finalization for new business.
- Market Analysis: Track industry trends, competitors, and market demands to refine outreach strategies and identify growth opportunities.
- CRM & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, prospects, and sales activities in our CRM system; contribute to regular sales forecasts and performance reports.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in training programs, mentorship sessions, and product demonstrations to rapidly develop expertise in SkipperDigit’s offerings.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (completed or in progress) in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Passion for working in a startup environment, where adaptability, resourcefulness, and initiative are key to success.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication in Finnish and English; ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Tech Savvy: Demonstrated interest in ERP systems, Data Engineering, and Analytics with a willingness to learn and stay updated on emerging technologies.
- Team Player: Collaborative attitude, open to feedback, and keen to learn from peers and mentors.
- Customer Orientation: Keen interest in understanding customer needs, problem-solving, and delivering outstanding customer experiences.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
- Goal-Oriented: Drive to achieve individual and team sales targets, contributing to the company’s growth and success from day one.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Finnish and English; additional languages are a plus.
