We are looking for a structured and experienced SAP technical lead for our IT Service Delivery team working closely with other SAP functional professionals and business/technical teams.

The role is full-time, permanent and located in Turku, Finland, Stockholm or Sandviken, Sweden.

Your Mission as the SAP Technical Lead

The SMR SAP Technical Lead role carries dual responsibilities: acting as the delivery coordinator for day-to-day project and BAU service activities, while also serving as the overall technical architect for all SAP and non-SAP applications within the SMR SAP technical service portfolio.

In this role, a strong, solution-oriented SAP Basis background is essential, ideally combined with experience in IT infrastructure, leadership, communication, and project management.

As the delivery coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and effective delivery of technical support and build activities, aligning both BAU business services and project organization requirements with the timelines and SLAs agreed upon by relevant stakeholders.

Operational excellence and governance will be key areas of focus, with particular emphasis on implementing robust problem management processes and driving service improvement initiatives to maintain a culture of continuous improvement.

In your capacity as Technical Architect, you will guide the ongoing development of both long-term and short-term landscape strategies. This includes designing architecture templates, guidelines, and roadmaps, while also ensuring adherence to architecture governance at the program level.

In addition, you will represent the SMR SAP platform services team in customer, partner, and vendor engagements, such as RFIs or investment pre-studies. This aspect of the role requires strong communication skills and business acumen to effectively engage with various stakeholders.

Your daily responsibilities will  include

Providing leadership and guidance to the SMR SAP Platform Operation team in day-to-day activities for efficient operation of the application portfolio.

Supporting the development of the long-term vision for the environment focusing on operational excellence, cost efficiencies and automation.

Providing architecture support and oversight to ensure that build activities comply with SMR IT governance standards.

In more detailed you will..

  • Lead and document processes for monitoring, maintenances, performance optimization and Disaster Recovery of the platform services application portfolio.
  • Provide expert level technical support and lead the investigation of complex issues and ensure timely resolution through effective problem management.
  • Analyze SAP Governance, Risk and Compliance across SMR divisions, with emphasis on ITGC (IT Governance and control)
  • Ensure compliance of all configuration items within the SMR SAP landscape with Sandvik IT security guidelines.
  • Work with internal and external partners for implementing best SAP landscape management practices, including implementing a perfective maintenance approach across the entire application portfolio.
  • Responsible for ensuring all critical application services are monitored and escalation mechanisms are in place for responding to events.
  • Manage and lead the technical relationships with the assigned SAP AMS support service provider.
  • Experience working with internal and external audit.

You will bring with you a broad knowledge of SAP eco-system and have a deep understanding and technical experience of both SAP & non-SAP applications and on premise or cloud based IT infrastructure.

Experience of large-scale SAP implementation projects (S/4HANA) is a merit and that you are famialiar with Agile methods with a strong appetite for new technologies. Independent and self-directive approach is needed in these assignments.
