Do you want to work with research, conservation and utilization of agricultural biological diversity?  Are you an experienced researcher within plant science with a passion for seeds? If you also like networking and appreciate working in an international and developing environment, NordGen might be the right place for you!

We are currently looking for an experienced researcher to join our team of plant scientists. In this role, you will lead and develop research within our genebank, focusing on seed viability, phenotyping, and the conservation and utilization of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture. The position offers opportunities for scientific leadership and the development of new research directions, depending on external funding. • Collaborate with national and international stakeholders, and pursue external funding opportunities
  • Publish research findings and actively share knowledge through various platforms
  • Represent NordGen in Nordic and European research networks
  • Coordination and report on projects
  • Support outreach, communication, and educational initiatives

Your qualifications:

  • PhD in plant genetics, physiology, breeding, or a related field (a Master’s degree may be considered with significant relevant research experience)
  • A demonstrated track record of independent, high-quality research in plant science
  • Strong skills in data analysis and scientific publishing
  • Experience in initiating and leading international research collaboration or multi-partner projects
  • Fluent in English and at least one Scandinavian language
