Senior Design Engineer

Are you passionate about creating and improving high technology products? Do you enjoy contributing and sharing your expertise with others?

We are now looking for a Senior Design Engineer to drive growth and market share increase of Paper Process Parts and especially Sizer process parts in paper machine area.

You will support Valmet's Paper Process Parts business by executing engineering and product management actions for defined paper process parts. You will work closely together with our technology team, global Paper Process Parts organization and area sales. You will be reporting to Process Parts Senior Manager in Performance Parts EMEA organization.

As Senior Design Engineer your main responsibilities will include for example

• Technical support to the internal and external customers

• New products engineering and product improvements

• Supporting the sales organization by providing technical studies and expertise in engineering materials, quotation engineering, item management and lay-out engineering

• Participation to the technology team's work

• Support to procurement activities

• Participation to the delivery projects and customer audits

The primary location for this position will be in Jyväskylä, but other Valmet locations are also considered possible.

Our expectations

To be successful in this position, you need to have a suitable technical education (BSc. in Engineering or equivalent) and demonstrated understanding of Pulp & Paper industry manufacturing and business processes. You have a strong internal motivation with an ability to achieve results under pressure. We value previous experience in design engineering assignments and the use of modern design engineering tools.

You have customer and sales oriented mindset with an ability to quickly build relationships and achieve results individually and in a matrix organizational structure. Good organizational skills, business understanding and ability to effectively analyze situations will help you to reach right conclusions.

You communicate, present, and negotiate fluently in Finnish and English, both written and orally. You are accustomed to utilizing various engineering and IT tools effectively.
