Aspocomp sells and manufactures printed circuit boards (PCB) and offers related design and logistics services. PCBs are used for electrical interconnection and as a component assembly platform in electronic devices.

Aspocomp’s manufacturing unit in Oulu focuses on prototype and quick-turn deliveries and the commercialization of new PCB technologies in cooperation with customers’ product design departments. Aspocomp’s customers are companies that design and manufacture telecommunication systems and equipment, automotive and industrial electronics, and systems for testing semiconductor components for security technology. The company has customers around the world and most of its net sales are generated by exports.

PCB manufacturing is a complex process which requires a big number of different machines and production lines. These machines are maintained and repaired by our experienced factory maintenance personnel and to better support the optimal availability of needed spare parts, we are looking for a

TECHNICAL BUYER

This will be a full-time job and the position will be filled as soon as a suitable applicant has been found. Overall purpose of the role will be planning and purchasing spare parts to ensure that the factory maintenance needs are met.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability of required spare parts and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on manufacturing operations

  • Develop and maintain spare parts inventories and related inventory management systems

  • Ensure that all procurement activities are in line with procurement policies and procedures

  • Prepare and issue competitive inquiries, requests for quotes and proposal calls

  • Place and follow-up purchase orders to spare part suppliers

  • Active sourcing for possible alternative vendors

  • Identify and execute savings opportunities in spare parts

  • Give input and report changes in factory

  • Assist with invoice and payment resolution

Key Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of practical technical purchasing experience (e.g. processing quotations, proposals, purchase orders, etc.) preferably within manufacturing industry.

  • Technical knowledge and general understanding of technical spare parts such as motors, pumps, valves, PLCs, pipes, mechanical parts etc.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, ERP systems and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)

  • Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written, in Finnish and English.

  • Mindset for total cost thinking

  • Ability to work independently
