Technology Manager / Specialist, Metals & Mining

Job Description

We are looking for a Technology Manager / Specialist, Metals & Mining to work together with Mining and Metals technology team. The team is part of our Technology and Process engineering unit and is responsible for mining & metals projects within AFRY Process Industries Division. 

Work tasks include:

• Technology expert role in planning and/or execution phases of Clients' investment projects
• Modelling of metallurgical processes
• Pyrometallurgical process design
• Project sales
• Project management
• Project development of new solutions and ways of working
• Projects from concept development to implementation phase including commissioning and start-up

Technology Manager's / Specialist's work is versatile. Depending on your experience and skills profile, your tasks include sales, proposal development, project management, process engineering tasks as well as development in ways of working and client offering.

Your main location will be Vantaa or Oulu but also working at AFRY's other offices is possible.

Qualifications

In order to succeed in this role, you have

• M.Sc. degree or higher in relevant field (metallurgy, process engineering or inorganic chemistry)
• Several years of hands-on experience of technology development, conceptual & basic engineering, project execution and/or plant operation within the metals & mining industry
• Good understanding in pyrometallurgy
• In the position of a Technology Manager, ability to act as in project manager or in leading expert role in projects.
• In the position of a Technology Specialist, deep knowledge of the field is expected to be able to provide practical solutions for clients
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to develop new solutions and approaches in a client-oriented manner
• Good command in process modeling tools such as HSC Sim, FactSage, JKSimMet
• Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken

We also appreciate experience in sales and the ability to travel domestic and abroad.
