Nokia Oulu site Failure Analysis laboratory provides services to all Nokia internal customers with analysis of products, components or materials. The analyses may include quality assurance, mechanical- and materials analyses of whole Nokia products as well as every bit and piece in them, sometimes down to the smallest detail.

- Manages Subcontracting / Partnership Manager.
- Resolves customer trouble tickets. Diagnoses complex problems / issues (EG hardware, software, combination) and provides resolution or recommend corrective actions.
- Plans technical requirements from customers' needs.
- Develops SW / HW build-controlled productions releases (EG main and update releases, service packages, maintenance updates, and customer design engineering).
- Defines product hardware / software evolutions through the creation and release of hardware / software documentation, hardware / software change control management, supplier and customer notifications.
- Retains technical and design knowledge for assigned products and technologies and provides training to the lower support teams (Tier 2 and Tier 3).
- Applies and maintains quality standards. Participates in process and tools evolutions and improvements.
- Applies the SW Care process (especially emergency case handling) contributing when needed to the fastest problem restoration.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
A suitable candidate will have a curious mind, always willing to learn something new. This mindset, combined with a minimum of a M.Sc-level degree in disciplines such as chemistry, physics, electronics or materials/mechanical engineering, will give you a good starting point in this position. Knowledge of materials analysis, imaging and characterization equipment and methods, such as SEM-EDS, FTIR, X-ray imaging and spectroscopy is regarded as a plus. The perfect candidate will be able to combine theory to practice, and produce reliable information for decision making. Sometimes the information environment may be challenging, so concentrating on the pertinent, based on the facts, is often required. More often than not, literature surveys are needed, so seeking information from scientific literature must not be foreign to you.
Reporting the findings is an essential part of the job, so fluent spoken and written English is a requirement.
