What is Wapice Talents?

Wapice Talents is a 7-month paid trainee program designed for ambitious individuals to begin their careers in IT. This isn't just a summer job - it's much more! You'll gain real-world experience, work with state-of-the-art technology and benefit from one-on-one mentoring, all while contributing to impactful projects.

Our program offers six tracks, each tailored to different skill sets and interests. 

You don't need to be an expert in the mentioned technologies, they are examples of relevant knowledge and areas of interest to guide you to choose the right track for you.

  • Embedded Systems & Electronics
    • Embedded systems
    • RTOS, Linux
    • C/C++
    • Electronics design
  • Communications
    • Primary focus on time sensitive networking (TSN) protocols
    • Other industrial protocols: OPC-UA, EtherCAT, CAN, Profinet
    • Interest in distributed systems, covering both embedded and and large-scale systems
  • Full Stack Cloud Development
    • Web development: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular
    • Backend development: .NET framework, Java
    • Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS or other
  • DevSecOps
    • Cloud platforms, DevOps platforms and CI/CD
    • Static analysis & automated security checks
    • Infrastructure as code (IaC) and containerization
    • Cyber security and related regulations in SW development
  • AI & Analytics
    • Machine learning, data science or generative AI tools
    • ML libraries and frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, OpenCV, Numpy
    • Python, C/C++
  • UI/UX Design
    • UX Design process (interviews, surveys, usability studies, ideation, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing), modeling and explaining UX requirements
    • Graphic design, UI principles, prototyping, responsive design (HTML/CSS)
    • Design tools (Figma)


We're looking to welcome 6-12 Talents into the program (1-2 per track), and you'll have the flexibility to work from any of our locations: Tampere, Vaasa, Helsinki, Turku, Jyväskylä, Seinäjoki, Oulu, Hyvinkää or Kuopio. Plus, we offer remote working options (depending on your project assignment).

What can you expect?

  • Part-time during studies, full-time in summer: Start part-time while you study, transitioning to a full-time summer job. You'll have the opportunity to adjust your working hours to fit your studies.
  • Personal mentoring: While you are working in your project, you get personal guidance from a senior expert to maximize your learning curve.
  • Thesis opportunities: We're flexible - if you need to work on your thesis, we can support that within the program.
  • Future prospects: Our goal is to offer you part-time work if you're still studying or full-time employment once you graduate.

The program runs from March 3, 2025 to October 3, 2025, and could be your first step towards a permanent position at Wapice.


Who are we looking for?

We're seeking passionate university students or recent graduates who can commit to the program and are excited to learn and grow. At Wapice, we live by our core values - Believing in People, Succeeding Together and Passion to be Ahead - and we're looking for people who share these values.

We are looking for talents who have:

  • Studies (university or university of applied sciences) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Data Engineering or other similar degree (at least 30 ECTS completed in their major)
  • A hungry mind for learning and continuous development
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Excellent team working skills and a will for information sharing
  • Enthusiasm and some previous experience in some of the key technologies in your field.

How do I get in?

We've made the process simple. Submit your CV, study transcript and answer few short questions through our streamlined platform. Want to stand out? You can even record a short video introduction (optional!). We value technical competence, so it could be beneficial to add a portfolio (e.g. Github or similar) or description of your personal projects. Please note that we only accept applications through our recruitment system, not via email or other channels.

The application period ends December 15, 2024.

Our recruitment process includes one or two interviews (via Teams or in person) where we discuss both technical and work personality related topics. In some cases, we may include a brief technical assignment. Interviews last around 1,5 hours and our goal is to keep the process straightforward and efficient.
