The Joensuu City Orchestra is a forward-thinking symphony orchestra of 35 musicians. Under the artistic direction of Jukka Untamala, the orchestra is known for its open-minded and diverse programming.
The Joensuu City Orchestra is inviting applications for the position of:
1st VIOLIN TUTTI
Audition:
Saturday, April 18, 2026, starting at 1:00 PM
Joensuu Conservatory Small Hall, Yliopistokatu 4, 80100 Joensuu
Audition Repertoire:
- W. A. Mozart Violin Concerto No. 3 in G, No. 4 in D, or No. 5 in A, 1st movement with cadenza
- The first movement with cadenzas from some of the following concertos: Mendelssohn e-minor, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius
- Orchestral excerpts
The audition invitation and orchestral exerpts will be sent by email after the application deadline. Orchestral excerpts may be ordered in advance by contacting [email protected].
A pianist provided by the orchestra will be available for the audition. Applicants may also bring their own accompanist at their own expense. Please indicate on the application form whether you wish to use the orchestra's pianist.
Salary:
Monthly salary for the position is €2786.40-€3009.31, based on experience and instrument and concert attitre allowance.
Terms of employment are in accordance with the General Collective Agreement for Municipal Personnel (KVTES) and the Finnish Musicians' Union Agreement (MuusikkoTES).
The position begins on August 10, 2026, or as agreed.
A job interview is part of the audition process. The job includes 6-month trial period.
