Dynamik is a Finnish technology company that builds intelligent tools that help teams allocate resources smarter. Our headquarters are in Espoo. Now we are looking for an Algorithm Designer to join our team.

Responsibilities

Allocator helps organizations intelligently assign mobile resources — the right people, to the right jobs, at the right time. It's a problem every team with mobile operations faces, and we've built a product that solves it uniquely through proprietary algorithms and data integrations.

This isn't a greenfield build-from-scratch role — it's better. You're joining a stable, production-grade system with a mandate to push it further. That means iterating on our vehicle routing algorithms using real customer data, applying local search techniques to improve solution quality and performance, and helping our algorithms scale as we grow globally. We're a startup with product-market fit and serious ambition. If you want your algorithmic work to have immediate and significant real-world impact, this is it.

What You'll Do

  • Design, implement, and iterate on algorithms for vehicle routing and related optimization problems.
  • Apply and refine local search techniques to improve solution quality and runtime.
  • Work directly with data from real customers to benchmark, stress-test, and improve algorithmic performance.
  • Work closely with product, engineering and research to integrate improvements into Allocator.
  • Design experiments to evaluate algorithm variants, measure quality tradeoffs, and guide iteration with data.
  • Stay current with developments in combinatorial optimization and vehicle routing research.

Requirements

  • Good theoretical and practical foundation in combinatorial optimization and NP-hard problem solving.
  • Hands-on experience with local search techniques and metaheuristics applied to routing or scheduling problems.
  • Experience iterating on algorithms against large, real-world datasets — not just synthetic
    benchmarks.
  • Familiarity with vehicle routing problems (VRP) and their variants (CVRP, VRPTW, etc.).
  • Ability to reason carefully about solution quality, runtime tradeoffs, and constraint handling.

Bonus Points

  • Academic background or publications in operations research or combinatorial optimization.
  • Exposure to ML-enhanced heuristics or learned components in optimization pipelines.
  • Prior work in logistics, last-mile delivery, or fleet management domains.
  • Ability to visit the office on a weekly basis. Some of us work fully remotely, so that’s not a requirement!
  • Experience contributing to or scaling algorithms in a commercial product.

At 90 days, you understand the existing algorithm stack deeply and have shipped at least one measurable improvement to routing quality or performance.

At 6 months, you're driving the algorithmic roadmap with confidence and customers are seeing better results.
