We are looking for a hands-on BESS Engineer to help design and build Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions as the company scales across Europe.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys turning concepts into working systems — designing, prototyping, testing, and improving products in a fast-moving environment. You will play a key role in developing early-stage solutions and supporting their evolution into commercial products, ensuring reliability, safety, and compliance with European grid requirements.
What You’ll Do

Contribute to building and developing a high-performing engineering and R&D function

Design, develop, and integrate BESS system architectures, including batteries, inverters, EMS integration, and grid connection

Build and test prototypes and pilot systems

Support the transition from prototype to commercial product

Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and integration teams

Work on system protection, power quality, and control strategies

Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization

Ensure compliance with EU grid codes, safety standards, and international requirements

Support technical documentation, certification, and regulatory processes
What We’re Looking For

Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Power Electronics, or a related field

Several years of experience in energy storage, power systems, renewables, or related technologies

Strong hands-on experience with BESS components and system integration

Experience with grid-connected systems, inverters, and battery technologies

Ability to design, build, test, and iterate on real hardware systems

Practical, problem-solving mindset suited to a startup environment

Experience with European or international energy projects is a plus

Strong communication and presentation skills

Fluent English and Finnish are required
