We are looking for an experienced and motivated Chief Engineer, Mechanical to strengthen our Flotation-team and to ensure successful Customer projects. This role will be joining our Separations Business Line, Flotation and is located in our Espoo Headquarter.
As a project lead and subject matter expert, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective solutions while adhering to project schedules and budgets. What you’ll do
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage design aspects in equipment delivery projects, acting as the primary point of contact
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of all designs, adhering to relevant industry codes, standards, and best practices.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation,
- Customer Interaction: Review and interpret customer technical documentation and requirements, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Scheduling and Budgeting: Develop and manage project schedules and budgets, monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Cost Control: Monitor and control project costs related to design and procurement, identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines (e.g., structural, electrical) to ensure seamless collaboration. Provide technical support to external design offices and all internal groups e.g. Sales, Supply, Service and Product Management to facilitate successful design, delivery and installation of equipment.
Who you are
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Solid experience in mechanical design and engineering, with a proven track record of leading complex projects succesfully
- Extensive knowledge of industry standards and quality principles
- Strong project managements skills, including scheduling, budgeting and risk management
- Strong experience in using 3D engineering and PDM tools efficiently
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- To succeed in this role, you need to be able to communicate fluently in English (spoken and written)
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Experience in the mining or metallurgical industry is highly desirable
