Would you like to influence how one of the largest media companies in the Nordics manages data? Do you want to be actively involved in shaping MTV's data team? MTV and TV4 Sweden are now looking for a Data Engineer to develop our data platform and data products within a cross-Nordic data team.
Role description
As a Data Engineer, you are the go-to person for designing and building the data pipelines and models that power analytics, insights, and subscription and advertising reporting across the organisation.
You'll work with AWS, Airflow, Snowflake, and data transformation frameworks to create scalable and efficient data workflows, ensuring that the data foundation is reliable, high-quality, and easy to work with for all data consumers.
You play a key role in developing new data solutions as well as improving and maintaining existing pipelines that support product, business, and analytics teams. You work closely together with other data engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand requirements, model data effectively, and deliver well-structured datasets that enable business needs.
Your responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines.

Develop high-quality data models and transformations using SQL and data transformation frameworks.

Implement and optimise ETL/ELT processes using Airflow and Python.

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability through tests, validation, and monitoring.

Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose datasets.

Improve and maintain data structures and storage patterns in the data lake and warehouse.

Contribute to documentation, data standards, and best practices across the organisation.
Who you are

An experienced Data Engineer with at least 5+ years of experience in data engineering who can see the bigger picture around your technical solutions and how they fit into a larger context.

You are comfortable working with SQL, dbt, and Python to create scalable data solutions

You enjoy solving data problems across the full pipeline lifecycle, from ingestion to modeling

You collaborate well with analysts, data scientists, and engineers from different teams

You take pride in building high-quality, reliable data solutions that others depend on

You look forward to working on-site with your team, sharing knowledge, and building a strong data culture

Some travel to Sweden is required for work tasks in this position.

This position is located at MTV's headquarters in Helsinki, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office. Please note that MTV Oy currently does not provide any relocation support.
