Finnair Technical Operations are now looking for a hands-on  

Fleet Transitions Engineer  

to support aircraft phase-in, phase-out, and entry-into-service activities on Technical Fleet Transitions team. This role is ideal for a practical aviation professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys solving technical challenges directly on aircraft and in records. 

Main responsibilities: 

  • Perform hands-on technical support during aircraft transitions, including inspections and defect reviews 
  • Identify and help resolve technical and records-related findings 
  • Support aircraft delivery and redelivery activities 
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and technical records teams 
  • Work with MROs and maintenance systems to validate aircraft status 
  • Support configuration control and maintenance status alignment 
  • Participate in on-site acceptance and redelivery events 
  • Coordinate transition tasks with planning and technical records 

Our expectations: 

  • Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (B1/B2) or equivalent 
  • Type rating on Airbus, Embraer, or ATR aircraft preferred 
  • Experience in aircraft maintenance, MRO, or airline operations 
  • Experience in aircraft transitions or heavy maintenance 
  • Strong understanding of maintenance documentation and systems 
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) 
  • Willingness to travel internationally 
  • Hands-on and solution-oriented mindset 
  • Strong problem-solving capability 
  • Ability to work under pressure 
  • Good communication and teamwork skills 
  • Flexibility in working hours
