The Role
We are looking for a Global Technology Manager to drive growth and expand market share of our roll cover and maintenance solutions globally, focusing on roll maintenance offering, with a special emphasis on suction rolls and wet end components. You will own and develop our product portfolio, improve cost efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction. In collaboration with area sales and product managers, you will identify the best technical and economic solutions to meet customer needs.
This position is well-suited for professionals in the Pulp & Paper industry who bring solid experience and a strong understanding of both process and machinery technologies, and who are comfortable contributing to product management, business development, and working in a global collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the global product business and drive profitable growth.
- Develop products, concepts, and portfolio competitiveness globally (Product Life Cycle Management).
- Define pricing guidelines, collaborate with regional teams on pricing models.
- Drive annual target setting, sales budgeting, and product margin development.
- Manage references and actively promote designated products internally and to customers.
- Support technology and sales globally, including competitor benchmarking.
- Develop and manage sales and marketing materials (launches, training, customer feedback collection).
- Facilitate technology and best-practice transfers across regions in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Identify growth opportunities and new business approaches.
To Succeed in This Role, You Will Need:
- Strong understanding of Pulp & Paper making processes and ability to translate customer needs into solutions.
- Proven expertise in product management and related tools.
- Strong business development acumen with a track record in process development implementation.
- Excellent customer orientation and ability to build relationships in a matrix organization.
- High motivation and self-drive, able to achieve results under pressure.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and French; other languages are a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in the Pulp & Paper industry with success in multicultural, international environments.
- M.Sc., B.Sc., or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Paper Processes.
- Travel up to 50 days/year, including quarterly customer visits and 2-3 weeks to Asia-Pacific if relevant.
