Head of IT Operations

• You will lead IT Operations for KPMG Finland and Estonia and act as a senior Nordic subject matter expert for hosting and connectivity.
• You will be accountable for operational performance, compliance, budgeting, people leadership, and driving hosting and connectivity transformation across local and Nordic priorities.
• The role requires solid experience in IT operations, infrastructure, hosting, networking, operational governance and supplier management, plus the ability to align local, Nordic and global stakeholders and fluency in English and Finnish.
• This is a permanent full-time position based in Helsinki with hybrid work (minimum three days onsite) and an application deadline of 3 August 2026.

We are looking for a Head of IT Operations to join our Technology Services Team!

Technology Services supports KPMG Finland and Estonia (FinEst) across core IT operations, end-user services, infrastructure, compliance, and strategic technology transformation. The team works closely with local, Nordic, and global stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, and well-governed technology services that enable our business and people to work effectively.

We are looking for a senior technology leader who can take ownership of local IT Operations in FinEst and, at the same time, contribute to Nordic-level development in hosting and connectivity. This is a hands-on leadership role combining accountability for operational performance, compliance, budgeting, people leadership, and transformation across local and Nordic priorities.

As a Head of IT Operations

you will be accountable for the local core IT Operations domain for FinEst and act as a senior Nordic subject matter expert for hosting and connectivity. You will work with Technology Services leadership, local IT operations teams, Nordic peers, global technology stakeholders, and external partners to ensure that services are secure, reliable, cost-conscious, and aligned with KPMG's strategic direction. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• owning and developing IT Operations in FinEst, including hosting, networking, end-user compute, and end-user services
• ensuring that compliance controls, operational risk management, and service quality expectations are implemented and followed within the IT Operations domain
• leading planning, budgeting, prioritization, and continuous improvement for local IT Operations
• representing FinEst IT in Nordic core IT initiatives, contributing actively as a member of the Technology Services leadership team
• providing people leadership and performance management for team leads and experts within IT Operations, depending on the final team structure
• providing senior guidance on Nordic hosting and connectivity, including on-premise, cloud, and networking topics
• executing Nordic core IT transformation initiatives in the hosting and connectivity domain in close alignment with Heads of IT Operations in other Nordic firms

You're a strong candidate if you have

• solid experience in IT operations, infrastructure, end-user services, hosting, networking, or related technology service domains
• strong understanding of operational governance, compliance controls, risk management, budgeting, supplier management, and service performance
• ability to work across local, Nordic, and global stakeholder groups and to align different interests into practical, deliverable plans
• experience contributing to driving technology transformation programs, especially in infrastructure, cloud, connectivity, workplace services, or service management
• a proactive, structured, and pragmatic leadership style, with the ability to move between strategic direction-setting and hands-on operational follow-through
• experience in owning and managing budgets for IT services
• fluent and clear written and verbal communication skills in English and Finnish

• experience in leading teams, team leads, or senior experts, with the ability to set direction, clarify priorities, and support performance and development
• experience in leadership communication, i.e. translating technology into business benefits and capabilities

This is a permanent full-time position, which is based in our office in Helsinki, Töölönlahdenkatu 3A. We follow hybrid ways of working and work on-site three days a week at least.
