Beneq, a global leader in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) technology, is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join the P-Series team within our Advanced ALD Business Unit. The role is based at our headquarters in Espoo, Finland. This is a hands-on opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary R&D environment where mechanical engineering is central to tool performance, reliability, and customer success.
Your Role at Beneq
As a Mechanical Engineer in the P-Series team, you will own the design, development, and optimization of mechanical components and systems for ALD tools. You’ll ensure designs meet demanding functional, regulatory, and manufacturability requirements, working directly with electrical, software/automation, and process development engineers, as well as with production and supply chain teams.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Designing and developing mechanical components and structures.
- Creating 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation using Autodesk Inventor.
- Preparing product purchase structures for customer projects and designing necessary project specific modifications.
- Collaborating with process, production and supply chain teams for optimizing designs for ease of use and production efficiency.
- Maintaining product structures in PLM system (Roima Aton).
- Participating in development of new technical solutions related to new products or product improvements.
- Maintaining compliance with CE and related safety standards.
- Troubleshooting of mechanical design issues and corrective actions.
- Evaluating materials and components for ensuring cost-effectiveness and performance.
What We’re Looking For
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum three years of experience in mechanical design.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or other 3D CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, NX etc).
- Solid understanding of materials, tolerances, and common manufacturing methods.
- Familiarity with relevant mechanical safety and compliance standards.
- Previous experience with vacuum technology is considered as an asset.
