We are looking for a permanent Mining Operations Manager to lead and develop operational mining activities across our Sotkamo and Vuonos site areas. In this key role, you will ensure safe, efficient and high-quality operations while guiding a team of skilled professionals.
Your key responsibilities
In this position, you will:
- Lead and manage daily mining operations, ensuring quantitative, qualitative and HSEQ performance targets are met
- Supervise and develop a team of geologists and engineers
- Manage budgets, cost control and resource allocation
- Lead and oversee mining construction projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure all quality, environmental and safety aspects comply with applicable laws, permits and internal guidelines
- Collaborate closely with the mining contractor, Chief Geologist, HSE team and site operations management
- Report directly to the Director of Operations, Finland
What we expect from you
We are seeking a professional with:
- Master of Science degree or equivalent university-level education (mining engineering, geology or related field)
- Proven experience in a managerial role within geology or mining (preferably in the mining and minerals industry)
- Strong technical expertise in mining engineering, geology and equipment operations
- Solid project management skills
- Deep understanding of mining safety regulations and risk management
- Ability to tackle operational challenges and implement effective improvements
- Strong leadership, communication and cooperation skills
- Fluency in both Finnish and English
