The International School of Helsinki (ISH) is a vibrant, inclusive, and non-profit learning community offering education to students aged 4 to 18 through the International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum. Located in Finlands capital, ISH fosters a global mindset and prepares students for the complexities of the modern world. Our community includes over 100 staff members and approximately 500 students representing diverse cultures and nationalities.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Personal Assistant to engage, collaborate and support a particular student in our primary years program. This is a full-time, temporary position within our dynamic IB World School.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Provide positive, supportive, and consistent learning and behavioral support for one individual student. Advocate for the student and provide input that will support their individual learning goals and needs. Collaborate effectively with teachers in supporting the students learning. Support student learning with high quality instruction and guidance in and out of the classroom. Follow teacher direction in support of the students learning and curricular objectives Communicate the students challenges with the appropriate teacher(s) or school leaders. Prepare materials to support the students learning including instructional materials as directed by the teacher(s). Supervise the student during emergency drills, assemblies, transitions, recesses and lunch periods. Actively maintain a culture of vigilance to identify any changes in student well-being, reporting all concerns promptly in line with school safeguarding procedures.

Salary:

The minimum full time salary will be €2,136.69 per month.

Qualifications & Experience

A bachelor degree from an accredited university. A teaching qualification is preferred. Experience working with primary aged children with special educational needs preferred.

Excellent organizational and communication skills to foster a supportive and nurturing environment.

A caring, patient, and student-centered approach to assisting.

High levels of proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in English.
