ALTEN Finland is looking for a Senior / Lead Substation Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to demanding energy infrastructure projects. In this role, you will be involved in the design and development of medium-voltage substation solutions and work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities
- Design and develop medium-voltage substation solutions and equipment layouts
- Prepare and review SLDs, technical specifications, calculations, RFQs, and engineering documentation
- Ensure technical compliance and coordinate interfaces with suppliers and project stakeholders
- Support design reviews, tendering activities, and project delivery
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, customers, and suppliers
To succeed in this role, you have
- Strong experience in electrical substation design
- Experience with medium-voltage equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, busbars, reactors, capacitors, surge arresters, and related components
- Ability to prepare and review engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to engineering
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in international project environments
