Our newly formed Common Development Platform team is building shared Cloud and DevOps capabilities for Kesko's development community. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you play a key role in shaping how these platforms are designed, operated, and evolved. Your focus will be on advancing Kesko's DevOps maturity, improving shared Cloud-based platform capabilities, strengthening development security, and enabling teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently and safely.
This is a versatile senior role in a team that is still taking shape. Together with the team, you will help define priorities, practices, and focus areas, and the role will evolve based on your expertise and the challenges we take on next.
Work location: Hybrid (Remote / K-Kampus, Helsinki)
What you will be doing:
- Participate in evaluation, selection, and implementation of DevOps tooling, CI/CD components, and shared platform services (e.g., observability, security scanning, infrastructure automation).
- Enhance Cloud infrastructure reliability, performance, and security by developing infrastructure as code, shared Cloud configurations, and operational baselines.
- Improve build, deployment, release, and environment management workflows to increase automation and reduce complexity across teams.
- Strengthen digital development security by enhancing secure coding practices, improving source code and repository hygiene, and advancing Cloud and application-level security controls.
- Work closely with development teams, architecture, cybersecurity, and infrastructure to ensure cohesive engineering practices and smooth adoption.
To succeed we believe that you have:
- Deep experience (7+ years) in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or SRE roles.
- Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), infrastructure as code, and Cloud-native architectures.
- Strong practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, configuration management, and container orchestration.
- Ability to lead technical investigations, evaluate tooling, propose architectures, and influence engineering direction.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work across organisational boundaries.
