We are looking for a (Senior) Simulator Engineer, to join our Simulator team to work with world class process simulation and Digital Twin solutions. In this role, you will design, implement, and test dynamic process models to deliver process simulators to our customers in Pulp, Paper and Energy industry.
You will work closely with customers, automation and process engineers and other simulator specialists to create high‑quality testing and Operator training environments that support our customers to run mills and plants safety and efficiently. You will also have the opportunity to work hands‑on with Valmet's renewed, state‑of‑the‑art DCS platform, DNAe, and further strengthen your expertise within a global industry leader in pulp, paper, and energy process technologies. The primary location for this position is Tampere, Finland, but alternative locations can be discussed.
As a (Senior) Simulator Engineer you will:

Design and implement dynamic process models for Simulator projects in pulp, paper and energy segment

Configure and test simulator functions and interfaces with DCS systems

Collaborate with automation, process, and control engineering teams

Participate in customer workshops, training sessions, and factory tests

Support continuous development of simulation tools and workflows
What we expect from you:

B.Sc. or M.Sc. Degree in Engineering, Chemical, Energy, Control Engineering or similar

Good communication and collaboration skills and a strong customer-oriented mindset. Fluency in written and spoken English, Finnish and Swedish skills are beneficial.

Experience in any of the following is seen as an advantage:

Process background from papermaking, pulping processes or energy sector

Process modelling, simulation, or optimization

Automation / DCS systems engineering knowledge

Tools such as Dymola, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar modelling platforms
