About the Role
As a Summer Trainee in Cyber Security Solutions and Services, you will work alongside our cyber security experts and service owners to enhance security posture and improve resilience across Fortum's ecosystem. Our team is responsible of IT (information technology) and OT (operational technology) cyber security platforms, solutions and services at Fortum.
Your tasks may include:
- Assisting in service support tasks, including troubleshooting and operational support.
- Participating in configuration of security solutions and access management activities.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for security solutions.
- Supporting application security initiatives, including DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing).
- Depending on your interest and background, the role may also include development tasks related to cyber security solutions
- Contributing to end-user cyber awareness and CTF exercise
About You
You are a proactive team player who enjoys solving technical challenges and driving improvements. You combine ICT skills with a cyber security mindset and are comfortable working independently when needed.
We hope you apply if you have:
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, such as vulnerabilities, threats, access management and secure configurations.
- Knowledge of IT secure lifecycle activities and cyber risk awareness.
- Are nearing the end of your ICT-related studies (e.g., Cyber Security, Network Engineering, Software Engineering).
- Fluent English skills (Finnish or Swedish is a plus).
- Availability from 4 May 2026 to 30 September 2026.
Additional skills we value:
- Familiarity with IT service operations (e.g., troubleshooting, ticket handling, change processes)
- Basics in programming (Java, C, C++, C#) and application lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, OCI).
- Participation in hackathons, bug bounty programs, or platforms like HackTheBox.
- Technical skills in Linux/Windows environments.
