Trainee, PMO Reporting Data

As our PMO Reporting Data Trainee, you'll immediately become a valued part of the Project Management Office (PMO) team. In this role, you'll support with Analysing Project Data and building Project Portfolio reports and systems and collaborate with project management and finance team to gain hands-on experience in Project Portfolio Management, Project Finance and the world of project management . You'll contribute directly to meaningful projects and see the impact of your work.

This is a fixed-term position, located in Tampere. The trainee period typically runs from May to August (e.g., May to August), with exact timing to be mutually agreed upon with your manager.

What are your key responsibilities:

  • Support & Assist: Supporting Project Management in Customer deliveries to standardise reporting.

  • Collaborate & Coordinate: Between project management and financial controllers to improve reporting at all levels of the organisation so that Kalmar can make fact based decisions.

  • Learning & Development: An opportunity to build upon analytics skills with Google BigQuery, Jira and Looker Studio dashboards.

  • Analysis & Improvement:  Analyze data project data and find ways to highlight anomalies.

  • Continuous Improvement:  Proactively identify opportunities and propose/implement solutions to enhance team efficiency.

What you bring to the role:

  • Academic Background in Project Management or Related Fields: You are currently studying toward a degree in Engineering, Business, IT, Supply Chain, or another applicable discipline, and are eager to apply your academic knowledge in a practical, hands-on environment.
  • Early Exposure & Curiosity: Previous experience from similar roles, internships, student projects, or volunteer work is considered an advantage, but not required - your motivation, curiosity, and willingness to learn matter most.
  • Proactive & Learning-Oriented Mindset: You bring a positive, can-do attitude and enjoy developing your skills in a dynamic, international setting.
  • Strong Communication & Collaboration Skills: You communicate confidently in English and collaborate effectively with colleagues across functions and borders.
  • Technical & Analytical Competencies: You have experience or interest in using data management and analytics tools such as Jira, Google BigQuery, Looker Studio, Google Workspace, SAP, and Document Management systems (AoDocs). You are enthusiastic about coding in Google Apps Script, Python, or developing SQL queries, and enjoy learning new tools, methods, or technologies relevant to project management.
