We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Design Trainee to join our team for a challenging and rewarding term, starting in February 2026. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about concept design, visual communication, and hands-on execution.

What You Will Be Doing:
As a Design Trainee, you will be actively involved in various stages of the design process, reporting directly to the Chief Design Officer (CDO).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Concept Generation: Developing initial design sketches and concepts based on project briefs and market research.
- Visual Development: Creating high-quality renderings and presentation materials for internal review.
- Prototyping & Mock-ups: Assisting in the preparation, building, and refinement of physical prototypes and mock-ups.
- CMF (Color, Material, Finish): Researching, specifying, and organizing color and material samples for new and existing products.
- Design Support: Assisting senior designers with design preparation and documentation.
What we Are Looking for:
We are seeking individuals who possess a proactive, hands-on mentality and exceptional design acumen. This opportunity is suitable for those who hold a degree (BA/MA) in Industrial Design or a related field, or are nearing the completion of their final year of studies and are focused on their graduation project. Additionally, the role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about starting their professional career in design.
The ideal candidate also possesses:
- Exceptional Conceptual Thinking: A proven ability to generate creative, innovative, and market-appropriate design concepts.
- Strong Visual Communication: Excellent drawing, sketching, and rendering skills to clearly articulate design ideas at every stage.
- Proactive & Hands-On Mentality: A "get-it-done" approach with enthusiasm for physical work, prototyping, and preparing mock-ups.
- Material & Color Acumen: A great eye for color and material selection (CMF), development, and application.
- Technical Curiosity: An innate interest in assemblies, mechanisms, and manufacturing processes-understanding how things work.
- Language Skills: Fluent English is required. Proficiency in Finnish is a significant asset.
Required Technical Skills:
- 3D Modeling: Proficiency in Rhino 3D and/or SolidWorks.
- Rendering: Proficiency in Keyshot.
- 2D Graphics: Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Valuable Assets (+): Blender experience (modeling/visualization), basic understanding of parametric CAD software principles, or understanding of furniture design principles (ergonomics, structure, manufacturing methods) is a significant benefit.

Practicalities:
This is a fixed-term position for 6 months, with the potential for a 4-month extension. The expected start date is February 2026. Please tell us in your application when you would be able to start. The position is located in Tampere. Due to the nature of the work, this role requires working onsite at our factory and HQ in Tampere. The compensation for the role is based on our trainee salary, which ranges from 2250€ to 2800€ per month for a full-time contract. The final compensation depends on the study credits achieved.
