Development Manager, Software Product Development, Draw Games
We are seeking a Development Manager to join our team working on Veikkaus' draw games product family. This is a permanent, full-time position.
Our team develops and maintains the systems for Veikkaus' draw games-business-critical, high-volume, cloud-native solutions built on a composable architecture. From scratch design and development to solving complex challenges, we ensure secure, high-quality, and maintainable systems. We provide valuable services directly to consumer customers, so the quality of our work must be close to our hearts. We have the biggest online consumer store in Finland, offering a wide range of games and gaming products with safe, responsible, and innovative gaming experiences.
Technologies and products we use include, but are not limited to: Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Cloud Native Event-Driven Solutions and Linux
As a Development Manager, your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with both the business units and technology leadership. You will develop our Draw Game systems to support new gaming concepts, by enhancing existing products or building entirely new ones. In this role, you will serve as the Technical Product Owner for the technical team, holding long-term responsibility for our ability to deliver exciting new games and services to the market. Our game development and technical know-how are highly respected in the field, meaning you might even get involved in international projects!
The timing is perfect for joining us. We are kicking off new product development initiatives to round out our draw games portfolio and are expanding our team, giving you the chance to shape our ways of working and create something fresh. The Development Manager for game systems works actively with business managers, product managers, game designers, developers, and leadership. This offers a unique vantage point to learn about the draw games side of the gaming industry and digital service delivery on a broad scale.
We expect you to have:
- Leadership skills: The ability to guide a team of top-tier professionals who utilize agile methodologies in their work.
- Vision & Prioritization: You have a knack for identifying development needs and opportunities. You can shape these into a prioritized roadmap together with business gaming experts and lead development to hit our targets.
- People skills: Experience working with diverse stakeholders combined with top-notch interaction and communication skills.
- Tech savvy: Strong technical expertise and a solid background in digital services or system development.
- The right attitude: A relaxed yet goal-oriented approach to getting things done.
- Language skills: Fluent spoken and written English. Finnish is considered an advantage.
