Introduction 

 

We are looking for a Director of Brand & Events to lead our Brand & Events team within the Metso Marketing & Brand organization. You will be responsible for leading a team of brand and event professionals dedicated to defining, developing, and protecting the Metso brand's core meaning and ensuring a consistent brand narrative with clarity and relevance. Your role plays a crucial part in building brand value and performance that elevates marketing impact and strengthens our competitive advantage. In this position, you will report to the VP of Marketing & Brand. 

 

This position is mainly located in Espoo, Finland, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. The position involves travelling as needed.

By translating business strategy and priorities into a compelling brand narrative, the Metso brand is connected directly to growth, enabling customer choice, stakeholder trust, and pricing power.  

 
We work closely with stakeholders, such as communications, HR, and global business stakeholders. Our team culture is all about being collaborative, evidence-based, and forward-looking. 

 

 

What you'll do 

 

  • Define and own the Metso brand strategy aligned with corporate vision and growth priorities. 

  • Develop and maintain the brand narrative, hierarchy, and governance framework. 

  • Ensure brand consistency across customer and stakeholder journeys. 

  • Lead the global event strategy and activation of the brand in events and initiatives. 

  • Collaborate with HR on employer branding, with Communications on reputation management. 

  • Define and measure brand KPIs, linking investments to business outcomes using data, AI, and analytics. 

  • Drive brand health and equity, integrating sustainability and ESG into storytelling. 

  • Manage trademark and brand protection processes in collaboration with IP Legal teams. 

 

 

Who you are 

 

  • 10+ years of experience in building and activating global brand strategies in complex organizations. 

  • Proven ability to connect brand strategy to business outcomes and drive and build brand as a strategic corporate asset. 

  • Strong storytelling skills and experience in brand evolution and commercial transformation. 

  • Executive-level communication and influencing skills with cross-cultural competence. 

  • Experience in change management and stakeholder engagement. 

  • Familiarity with intellectual property principles and trademark portfolio management. 

  • Fluency in digital tools, analytics, and AI-driven brand measurement. 

  • Risk awareness and compliance mindset.
