Director, Environmental Systems

We in Valmet's Energy business unit provide energy solutions including boiler and gasification plants with their rebuilds, and environmental systems to customers around the world. In the Environmental Systems technology unit, we develop, sell and deliver technologies that help our customers control their emissions efficiently. Our offering consists of a variety of products, services and solutions, for example for dry and wet flue gas cleaning and heat recovery, and flue gas desulfurization, as well as NOx control for energy, pulp, panel board and other industries.  In the past decades, we have gained extensive experience and expertise in emission control, resulting in a long list of improvements and innovations in air emissions control for the benefit of our customers and the environment around us.

We are looking for a leader for the Environmental Systems technology unit to guide the organization forward in the growing business. As the Director of the technology unit, you will report to the head of Energy business unit and be part of the business unit's management team.

In this role, you will lead and develop an organization of around 100 professionals, as well as manage and develop the unit's business globally. You will put strategy into effect and be responsible for profit and loss. You monitor performance and create accountability through follow-up. You will also have responsibility of project execution and sales in co-operation with area organizations. Together with your organization you get to maintain and develop the product portfolio and secure global cost competitiveness in the exciting and growing cleantech business.

Expectations

To succeed in this position, you should have proven track record of successfully leading and developing an organization and managing business. You have vision and the ability to identify future business opportunities, and to deliver growth. Naturally, you have a business mindset with a strong result orientation. As a leader you are able to create engagement and team spirit by motivating and inspiring others. You are also equipped with excellent communication and influencing skills. Fluent English language skills - both written and spoken - is a key requirement. We will also expect you to have a relevant, academic educational background.
