HSSEQ Manager
to our Marketing and Services’ HSSEQ team located in Espoo.
Our HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality) team is responsible for developing and implementing safety management activities in Neste’s Marketing and Services (M&S) operations. In this position you will be in charge of HSSEQ in Neste’s operations in Estonia as well as contributing to HSSEQ in M&S in Finland. This role has a strong focus in further development and continuous improvement of M&S safety and quality processes, ways of working and safety data management.
In this role, you will report to the Head of HSSEQ, Marketing and Services. In our team, you will also be part of Neste’s community of HSSEQ professionals. Together with your expertise, we can do meaningful work to drive Neste forward.

Your key job responsibilities include

Regional HSSEQ Oversight: Lead and ensure compliance with internal corporate standards and national legal requirements across operations in Estonia while supporting M&S operations in Finland.

Operational Support: Provide hands-on functional support to M&S businesses, logistics, and terminal teams to ensure safe, compliant, and incident-free operations and maintenance.

Safety Culture & Training: Develop and deliver engaging HSSEQ procedures and training materials to foster a robust safety culture among staff, contractors, and stakeholders.

Stakeholder & Authority Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, corporate experts, and local regulatory authorities.

Incident & Deviation Management: Collect, analyze and report HSSEQ metrics; support line organisation with incident learnings.

Process & Data Development: Drive continuous improvement of safety and quality management systems, ways of working, risk assessments and safety data analysis.
The best combination to succeed in this role

Several years of proven experience in HSSEQ, preferably within safety critical / high hazard industries, process industry or logistics.

Proven track record working within chemical or process industries (petroleum refining and/or petrochemical) is a significant benefit

Relevant higher level education (B.Sc, M.Sc), for example in safety, environmental, engineering or energy sector

Knowledge and proficiency in ISO 9001, ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 standard requirements

Highly motivated and proactive attitude

Ability to drive through improvements and to lead multiple high priority projects simultaneously

Ability to build relationships and grow capabilities with internal and external stakeholders

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - fluent Finnish and English language (oral and written). Knowledge of Estonian language is an advantage in the position.
