LECTURER IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS
The contract of employment is permanent as of 1st August 2024.
The duties in the position include teaching in various expertise in the field of international business and industrial management. The job includes also supervising the compilation of theses and internships. In addition to teaching, the job includes various research and development duties and designing and implementing chargeable services.
Requirements:
- competence in international business and work experience in the field,
- competence in sustainable and responsible business
- competence in managerial work in an international operating environment,
- competence in blended and online pedagogy
- international work experience
- business connections and active networks in the field
- demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse and multidisciplinary teams
- proficiency in English both oral and written CEFR-level C1 (advanced) for effective teaching and communication.
- strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Oral and written Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
The successful performance of the position will primarily require working on Karelia's campuses in Joensuu.
Applicants are required to have an appropriate Master's Degree and minimum three years professional experience in the field. In addition to teaching, the job includes various instruction and development duties. Experience in teaching is considered an advantage.
The eligibility requirements for the position are in accordance with the Decree on University of Applied Sciences (A1129/18.12.2014). In addition, pedagogical studies of at least 35 credits or 60 ECTS credits, which may also be completed within three years of the start of the employment, are required. The terms and conditions for the employment and the salary are determined in accordance with the Sivista general collective agreement on UAS. The salary is 3514,47-5187,20 EUR per month, including experience supplement.A six-month probationary period is applied to all new members of the staff.
A UAS teacher has 12 weeks of holiday period, 8 weeks of which are in the summer. As a teacher, you can choose when and where you work for at least 28 % of your working time. Teachers work 1600 hours per academic year.
