Logistics Coordinator

Your role

In this position, you will ensure the smooth execution of warehouse and production processes by planning, directing, and monitoring material flows, production batches, and related documentation while making sure that all activities are carried out efficiently and in compliance with current environmental, occupational safety, GMP, and other applicable guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and executing production activities in accordance with the monthly production plan, including initiating production batches and preparing material requests for warehouse personnel
  • Ensuring compliance with operational guidelines and regulations, and monitoring the correct use of machines and equipment
  • Completing and overseeing diverse documentation related to production and warehouse operations, including monitoring batch report flow and material stream accuracy
  • Managing inventory of warehouse materials, including ordering packaging materials and factory supplies, as well as processing invoices
  • Preparing waste collection orders as required
  • Acting as a substitute for the Production Planning Manager in production planning duties
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in warehouse facilities according to 5S principles
  • Participating in daily warehouse operational tasks when needed

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in logistics, warehouse, or production tasks 
  • Ability to manage larger entities and strong attention to detail in documentation 
  • Basic understanding of material flows and production support processes 
  • Good interaction and teamwork skills 
  • Willingness to participate in practical warehouse tasks when needed 
  • Basic IT skills (e.g., ERP systems, Excel) 
  • The role also requires good Finnish language skills and basic proficiency in English. Our working language is Finnish

Your new team 

Fermion Oy is a subsidiary of Orion and develops and produces all active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for Orion's in-house developed innovative medicines and for some of Orion's branded, generic and animal health products. Fermion also develops and produces a series of generic APIs for various indications and is active as CDMO, contract development and manufacturing organization, to serve other pharmaceutical companies. The company has produced APIs in Hanko, Finland since 1973, and the plant currently has personnel of 180. The company's Oulu plant commenced operations back in 1964 and currently employs more than 100 professionals. Fermion's head office is in Espoo where R&D, S&M and part of QM personnel are located. Altogether approximately 400 professionals work for Fermion.

You will work in close collaboration with your supervisor, the production planner, and the warehouse personnel. The role also involves daily communication with the production sites, warehouse teams, and the laboratory.
