Team Lead, Project Management

About the role

Engineering & Projects is responsible for implementing Fortum's nuclear power projects. We are experts working on demanding tasks at Loviisa and co-owned nuclear power plants, employing around 150 top professionals. We support external customers by delivering world-class nuclear power services globally. In addition, we have a strong focus in nuclear research and development and provide expertise to new nuclear and hydrogen projects.

 

We are now looking for Team Lead for our Project Management team to become part of PME (Project Management and Execution) Leadership Team. This role will report to Director, Project Management & Execution and be located in Espoo, Finland.
 

As a passionate and experienced leader you will further develop the Project Management team into a modern dynamic team of high performers. The team at the moment consists of appr. 10 highly experienced project managers which will grow in time and based on the businesses' needs. The team's focus is to deliver projects successfully to Loviisa nuclear power plant, co-owned assets, external customers and new nuclear.

 

We hope that you want to play an important part in the continued success of our customers nuclear operations, and you have the ability to prioritize and provide clear direction and make decisions for your team. You are interested in leading and developing people, driving performance and efficient ways of working to meet the safety and quality requirements as well as business targets. Maintaining and further developing a strong safety culture is a key priority in your leadership.

 

You will actively develop the co-operation with stakeholders, customers and partners, to reach E&P and PME vision. You have a strategic mindset and the ability to think in the long-term about nuclear business. You are willing to communicate actively both internally and externally about project management and nuclear related matters. You can also act as a project manager and lead your own projects whenever possible.

 

About you

  • Passion for developing people to their full potential, with a good track record as a leader in challenging situations
  • Proven track record in leading large, complex projects and/or PMO functions, preferably within the nuclear or energy sector
  • Structured, dynamic and self-aware
  • University degree in engineering or business
  • Deep knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of Project Management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English and the ability to express yourself well both in speaking and writing, Finnish and Swedish skills would be an advantage
  • Ideally, familiarity with nuclear business, preferably familiarity from Loviisa nuclear power plant, Nuclear Services business and/or Fortum's co-owned fleet
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • A desire to learn and grow, as a professional and as a person
